Bzzt Digital

These distressed digital noises may induce concern as to the well being of your iPhone. Sometimes it might sound like you have a dying fax machine in your pocket, other times it might sounds like your pet robot has a hangover. Bring a little bit of that cyberpunk edge into your life with over 250 sounds.

Now Available on the AppStore

This paid version addresses many of the issues with the free version, namely the duration, variety, and quality of the sounds.

Bzzt Insect

Embrace nature while you still can with this soothing and stimulating collection of insect audio.

Bzzt Silent

You may know these sounds as a teen repellant, mosquito ring tone, cat repellant, or dog whistle. These sounds range from 14kHz to 44kHz. The lower ones may be audible to certain friends or family, but not to everyone, the higher tones will only be audible to certain animals.

Adorn Yourself with Sound

Audio Perfume is a platform for remotely activated sound effects on mobile devices. Sounds are played in the background of active apps, or even while the device is asleep.

Random, Timed, or Data Driven Sound

Audio Perfume supports a variety of activation triggers.

A Platform for Synchronicity

Audio Perfume enables sounds to be played on all the installations of a particular app at the same time, enabling wearers of the same fragrance to enjoy moments of pure synchronicity. Sounds can also be activated for specific individuals as well.

A Platform for You

The real power of any platform is in the collective energy, creativity, and intelligence the developers bring to it based on their own needs and desires. Audio Perfume doesn't currently offer an API, but we'd be happy to see how we can work together on a project.

Featuring Bzzt

We are currently featuring the Bzzt suite of fragrances, a collection of apps designed to raise an eyebrow or two as they interrupt your daily life. Bzzt is configured to play the associated sounds at completely random times. The sounds work well together, so feel free to install a few.

Not hearing any sounds?

It is important to remember, unless otherwise noted, Audio Perfume applications are not designed to play sounds when you launch them, nor do they generally have tools to manually play the sounds. The purpose of Audio Perfume is that it offers you a the freedom of a hands off experience.

That being said, if you have had an app installed for more than a week, and have not heard any sounds, there could be something wrong. Follow these troubleshooting steps to get it back in order.

1. Sometimes people accidentally decline the initial request for the app to send you notifications. Make sure the app is set to receive notifications by going to the Notifications area in your Settings app and turning the related options ON.

2. In the Settings app, navigate down to the settings for this app, add your email address as the alias.

3. Try launching the app again, this time leave it on until the network activity spinner (visible beside the 3G or WiFi symbol in the title bar) is completely done. Sometimes this needs to be done again after an OS upgrade, or a restore.

4. If you are not seeing the network activity indicator at all, you may need to re-install the app (re-installing paid apps is always free). Press your finger on the app icon till everything starts to wiggle, tap the black and white X in the corner and confirm that you'd like to delete the app. Return to the AppStore and install it fresh.

If you continue having trouble get in touch, and I'd be glad to double check that your installation has been registered.
